In addition to building one of the leading manufacturers of fire fighting equipment, Ashbaugh's legacy includes a distinguished career as an Army Air Corps pilot in World War II and a starting halfback for Notre Dame duing its 1946 and 1947 national championship winning fooball seasons.

Services will be held Aug. 20 at the First Presbyterian Church in Elkhart.
